Where is it? - Watertown, NY East side take Route 3 north a short distance to a left on Huntington/Ridge road just before the bridge. (In fact the bridge where I took the Kayak pictures. One mile up the road is a parking lot and trail head.
There's a very nice boat launch
If you can carry the boat over or between the gate.
Mostly you get looks at the river like this one.
Once in a while the trees open out and you can see the river.
A nice picnic area is at the Black River, NY end.
Right next to the Parking lot on Route 3 near the intersection of Rt 342.
Not a lot of wildlife or scenery, unless you count walkers, bikers and a smokin' hot blonde rollerblader!
